If the true goal is happiness, how do I find it in all this craziness?

For once in my life I would like to get it all done, clean it for good and pay the last bill.  That is wishful thinking.  How can we feel complete when nothing ever gets done?  When there are always more bills to pay, more dishes to clean and the car always needs gas.

Maybe getting it all done once and for all is not the goal.  It could be that the cycles that flow through our lives, are meant to keep us moving forward.  From the time we are little, till the time we die, there will always be something that is drawing us forward.

Even when the forward motion seams to go sideways it is still motion and that is the underlying current that is what sustains life on this planet.  Without the movement and constant changes that life brings us, we would stagnant and wither.  Thus the yin and yang of life is always in flow-motion.

So if the true goal is Happiness, how do we find it in this moving target?  And if we do find it, can we sustain it?  This is the big question and one that has a big answer.  If we can allow our inner, higher selves to line up with what is manifest all around us, and just the reverse, allow the outer manifestations to come into alignment with the greater part of our being.  That is where the happiness is created.  From the meeting and blending of both worlds which are one and the same, we get to experience the atom splitting nuclear reaction that happens.

This is, at the same time, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual all rolled into one.  Can this powerful point of attraction be maintained?  Yes and no.  It can be maintained but to different degrees.  As with all cycles it will ebb and flow, raise and fall.  Like the ocean it has its tides, but it is always there.

The game of “hot and cold” is the same as our happiness level.  When we get closer to being aligned with our higher selves, that essence of God within us, we are getting hotter.  As we move away from this alignment, we are colder.  Our emotions will guide us in the same way.  Hot, happy.  Cold, scared.  Anytime you move towards a higher vibration you will be getting hotter.

I hope you, stay hot.

This is the time of year to be actively pursuing your dreams.

Spring is in full swing and it is the perfect time of year to dust the pollen off the goals you set for yourself in January and get back to creating your dreams.  For so many of us it is hard to stay on track when the weather is so nice outside and the trees are now green.  But what about all the things you had hoped to get done this year?  Where are the projects that were all consuming during goal setting season?

Now is the perfect time to reconnect with your true passions and to get moving full steam ahead.  If the course of life has derailed you as-of-late, it is time to get back on track.  Think about all the things you would like to accomplish this year and take some time to figure out the few most important of the bunch and focus on making some real headway.  Start by deciding on the next step.  Write it down.  Do this for each project.

By breaking it down to smaller steps it becomes do-able, and not just this huge project that seems all consuming when faced in its entirety.  A list of baby steps is even better, that way when you have spear time it is easier to pick from the list and say, “I can do this one thing today.”

So if you have a monster of a project ahead of you, break it down into bite size pieces.  If you still can’t find the motivation to get started, it might be time to rethink weather it should be on your list at all.  We as humans will only do what we are motivated to do, whether it is a positive motivation or negative.  And don’t think that the negative motivation is all bad.  Some of the best inventions have come out of some of our biggest challenges.

How do you come back from a physical ailment, mentally?

Image

So often we are overcome with a physical health challenge that can take up a great deal of our time and mental energy, and it can consume our attention for periods of time so that it becomes hard to come back to a healthy state of mind.  How do we snap out-of-it when we still feel like crap?  Is there a way to regain your footing while still healing your body?

To go from pain, to no pain, may not be on the schedule for today, but to go from despair, to hope, can be.  If you can make this small adjustment in your mental attitude it can mean the difference between healing and staying stuck-in-the-muck.  The very thought of hope can bring about actions from you that will create a more healing environment in your home and work place.

When we are in pain it is natural to want to burrow in and be alone, and when the illness has passed it can be quite a shock to look around and find your home and personal life in disarray.  So hope can be seen in opening the curtains and windows and experiencing the beauty that is nature.  Hope can be found on the face of a beloved pet that has stood by you through this whole thing, and not commented on the state your hair has been in for days on end.  And even a trip to the grocery store can help improve a sagging mental attitude by bring some wholesome food into the house.

But the best cure for the health-crash-blues is to find hope inside of yourself and to nurture it until it infects the rest of your emotions.  So that hope turns to more positive emotions as your gain more strength.  Put some gentleness around yourself as you work your way back, and find ways to treat yourself to the things you know you enjoy such as reading or a good movie or lunch with friends.

When you have been through a physical challenge it can be hard to turn the boat around, but unlike the Titanic you can adjust your course in small ways and avoid the iceberg and get back to smooth sailing.

How do you know if the time is right to make a change?

Capt. Memo's

Can you change everything about yourself on the fly or do you need some time to sort things through?  Have you been thinking about making some changes and are just not sure if this is a good time?  How do you know when a good time is and is there really a good time to make changes?

I guess it all depends on the type of changes you are thinking of making.  If it involves moving or marriage then this is the perfect time.  If it’s a career change it will have to wait till next week.  For the bigger stuff I think one year is the perfect amount of time to wait before let’s say cutting your hair or changing colors.  This can be so traumatic that a mandatory waiting period is a must.

But seriously, if you are thinking about making a change and you are just not sure if the timing is right then it is time to go inside to find out.  Don’t rely on the feedback from those around you to make this kind of decision.  When it comes to your life only you can be at the very center of your universe and know just what will fill your sails.

Take some alone time to gather your thoughts and weigh the options and then center yourself in whatever way works best for you.  Once you are centered you can imagine the future in this new way and just notice the images and feelings that come up for you.  If you are getting a good feeling then you have your answer.  If you are getting images or feeling that are not positive and bright and sunny, you will need to accept that there is something that is holding you back.

If you are not ready, try to figure out if it’s something within you that needs healing or if it’s just  not the  best move for you to make right now.  If you got a yes, then it’s full speed ahead.  Bon Voyage!

How can you become the person you think you want to be?

My head is stuck

If you were the person that you think you are does that make you the person that you want to be or does it make you someone that you would hate being?  Do you hold a better then deserved notion of yourself or do you have a warped image of who you are?

We all carry with us an image of who we think we are and it is not always close to being the truth of who we are to the people that know us best.  Even the person others see and know may not be a true representation of the person we really are.  Who then are we and how do we get the best part of ourselves to show up most of the time.

If we are the sum total of all the things that have ever happened to us, that is good news because it means that we cannot be defined by any one single bad decision that we made in the past.  And as long as we are human we all have at least one time when good judgment was looking the other way and we took the road best-not-traveled.  A little walk on the wild side, or a big jump off a cliff, sometimes it just happens, but we can’t define our whole lives from just one walk-about.

The way I see it, we get an itch and we have to scratch it, for better or worse, it is like a long tailed cat on a porch full of rocking chairs.  Sometimes you just have to move around till you find a place that suits you.  Each time you feel the painful pinch, you know for sure that there is a spot that you don’t want to stay.

Time to find a nice warm spot in the sun away from what you don’t want, find the sweet spot that will allow you the space to be the unique person that you are, tail and all.  If you know what you don’t want, you are that much closer to knowing what you do want, who you are and what makes you happy.

To see differently

To see differently

For many months now I have been experiencing, or should I say wallowing in, the things that don’t work in my life any longer.  I suppose I needed to get down in the mud and roll around in it for a while just so I could be really sure that it was not what I wanted and to come to a point of exhaustion from trying to hold on to a life that will never work for me.

Today was a day of letting go.  Gone are the many thoughts that have been holding me in the past.  Now is the time to start to build a new life that will include all the things that I do want in my life. I have been going through this transition for more than two years now and it has taken the past couple of months to really help loosen my grip on the “what’s known” and to reach for the “unknown”.

My task now is to start building a life that will include the things that stimulate my soul.  My goal is to find all the things that I have a passion for and to find what I would want to do even if I didn’t need the money.  I have many hobbies and interest but lately it has been narrowing itself down to a few particularly strong interest that all fit together.

I have continued to write even while working a full time job and it is a passion that has been with me since my teen years.  My other love is computers, I love everything about them.  It continues to amaze me how we can connect through the internet to people all across the world.  But my first love is spiritual growth.  I have always been interested in anything mystical, metaphysical, or spiritual from a very early age.  It is the one thing that has been a part of me for my whole life.  As I combine these three aspects together it has created a whole new world for me, one that I hope to continue.

The question to you today is…  What would you do if you didn’t need the money?

Follow up question… What are you learning from this passion of yours?

And then…  What are 5 ways to make money doing this thing that you love so much that you would do it even if you didn’t make money doing it?

Swimming upstream or finding your flow

Yum

I have for most of my life tried to swim upstream and against the current and this has not worked out well for me.  By not going with the flow I have had to fight for everything.  I am exhausted!  It is time for me to find my flow.  I am ready to find my place in this world and to use the talents that God gave me.  I always thought it would be too boring to be a writer but I have found a whole world of exciting possibilities inside me that bring me joy beyond anything I could have imagined.

Each of us has been given unique gifts that make us who we are and to not express our talents is like swimming upstream.  There are many reasons to not go with the flow.  It could be that the talent you have needs special schooling or training and that would be time consuming and costly.  It could be there are conscious or unconscious fears around developing your talents and the success that would follow.  We are influenced by the fear of success just as much as the fear of failure.

When we know we are resisting and believe that all is well when it’s not, it is time to look back to see were we may have gotten off track.  It could have been addictions or relationships or even family members that sidetracked us from the very thing that would have made our life complete.

But before we blame anything outside of ourselves for this let’s look to see if there was something inside that was not ready or not able to allow the good to flow.  If there is a belief system that says, “I’m not worthy” then allowing is derailed.

It is only when the inner emotional belief system is lined up with worthiness, your own belief that you deserve the best that life has to offer, it is then that the universal energy or God can come into your life and begin to line things up in a way that supports you.

How do I forgive myself for something I’ve done?

We all have something we did or said that may now be weighing heavy on our minds, if you have regret and wish to find peace in your heart once again then it is time to own this thing and stop trying to push it off onto somebody else.  By not taking ownership you will be forever reaching to place it on someone else and by doing this you will be out of coherence with yourself and always a little off center.

The first thing to do is own it.  Take several deep breaths as you realize that what has happened is in the past and cannot be changed.  Breathe into knowing you messed up, this can be hard but it is necessary in order to move on.  Stay with it until you are no longer looking to place the blame outside of yourself and you can accept responsibility for your actions.  Breathe.  Great!

Now say you’re sorry, to yourself, this is an internal thing.  I am not asking that you go forth and make amends with those that you have hurt that will be totally up to you at some later point, for now we are working on self-forgiveness.  Are you sorry and do you regret that this thing has happened?  If you do then feel it, it is not healthy to repress your emotions, feel them and stay with it until it passes.

Now, make a commitment to never do it again.  This step is crucial, for without this last step it feels empty.  You must own it and regret doing it, now make a strong commitment to never do it again as long as you live.  Without this last step there is no way to change a bad behavior, or to learn and evolve from our past mistakes.  This is what makes it possible to let it go and forgive.

Use this three step process for each individual thing you need to forgive within yourself.  Once you have gained some peace of mind and come back to center and connection with all that you are, it will feel as if an enormous weight has been lifted and you can finally breathe again.

This is the same process you can use to ask for forgiveness from another.  Follow the three steps of telling them what you have done, then say how sorry you are, and promise to never do it again and honor that commitmnet.

How do you get into the creative mood?

In the past two posts I have discussed the creative process and today I wish to explore just how to get into the present feel good state in order to create the future good fortune. When the present circumstances are not exactly what you had hoped for and you are feeling disappointed it may be time to reassess your methods.
Through the Molecules of Emotion by Candace Pert, Ph.D. we learn that our thoughts have a profound effect on our emotions. By choosing positive thoughts from our own free will it then activates the tiny neuropeptides that control the release of feel good hormones in the body. This is both ground breaking and old news at the same time.
The fact that it is now a part of mainstream science is amazing; the fact that this has been part of every mystery school and secret teaching through the ages is the stuff that good feelings are made of. Epigenetic explores how cellular reactions can affect our genes and our health and through this very precise method you can create inside you the very mood that is required to shift into a coherent state that will allow you to receive your good fortune.
HeartMath has demonstrated that this coherence leads to more intelligence, better health, and less stress and when you have this in your life it produces the very things that most people are wishing for in the first place.
This is the place to create the future, when you are in this feel good state you can accept the good that the universe wants to give you and now you are lined up with the very vibrations and biochemical make-up to accept it. By being able to use your thoughts to affect your emotions you stimulate your physical environment in a way that uplifts your soul. Easy, right?

How to get there from here

In my last post I talked about the needs, desires and goals that we have as humans, today I want to talk about how to get there from where you are now.  Too many times we keep ourselves stuck in the future and in our unfulfilled wants and desires and do not spend enough time in the present moment.

In order to create a future that has all things we are hoping for, we need to begin from a place of already having everything we want.  Yes, this is the rub.  How can a “wanting” be a “have it” at the same time?  This is the mysterious secret of the ages that has been used by many but revealed by few.

My superstars and successful entrepreneurs know this secret formula.  They know how to have a vision of the future with all the passion they have and still feel whole and complete in the present moment.  In the “now moment” of each and every day is where the magic happens. The feeling of having it all connects to the all they want to have, and the future and the now become one.

It is in the absolute knowing that the desire is being met, even as it is still a desire is where the pavement meets the road.  Co-creation at its finest, I say co-creation because of the major role that the universe plays in this whole drama.  It is the Jesus like faith and absolute knowing that a higher power is at work, it is this higher power that can move mountains and steer rivers.
